February 2017 was 2.5°C warmer than average, with a maximum temperature of 14.6°C. Rainfall was slightly below average and only 3.5 mm of snow was noted. Winds were average, even though an all-time record wind gust of 50 mph was recorded.

The maximum temperature in the month was 14.6°C recorded at 13:46 on the 20th. This was the second highest February temperature, only beaten by the 15.6°C recorded on February 23rd 2012. The minimum temperature was -1.6°C recorded at 10:25 on the 6th, with the monthly average being 5.6°C, 1.4°C above the mean. This was the second highest February monthly average, beaten only by the 6.0°C recorded in 2011.

March 2017 was the warmest March ever recorded here. Temperatures were 2.0°C above the average. Rainfall was above average and no snow or frost was recorded. This was the first March that the minimum temperature was above freezing. Winds were stronger than average.

The highest temperature in the month was 18.3°C at 17:24 on the 30th, the highest temperature since 20.3°C was recorded on September 28th 2016. The lowest temperature was 0.5°C at 02:12 on the 2nd. This is the highest minimum March temperature ever recorded, beating the previous high of -0.3°C set in 2012. The average temperature in the month was 8.0°C, the highest ever for March, beating the previous highest of 7.9°C set in 2012. April 2017 was the driest month ever recorded here with only six millimetres of rainfall. Winds were the lightest ever in April and temperatures were equal to the average.

The highest temperature in the month was 21.4°C recorded at 14:43 on the 9th, the highest temperature since 24.8°C was recorded on September 15th 2016. At 05:35 on the 25th, the temperature fell to -1.9°C, equalling the lowest April temperature ever here set on April 2nd 2013. The average temperature in the month was 8.5°C, exactly the same as the April mean. The average daily high temperature was 12.9°C, also the same as the mean, with the average daily low temperature being 4.4°C (0.1°C below the mean). May 2017 was warmer than the average, with rainfall totals below normal. Winds were lighter than average. So far this year, only January has recorded average temperatures below normal.
