Selston Weather Webcams - westerly view
Selston Weather has two live cameras. The top one is positioned in the window of the upper floor of Bracken House, the bottom one is positioned outside at the top of Bracken House. Both cameras look down onto the paddock and stables. To the left of the paddock is the top of the wildflower meadow area whilst behind the stables is the open land between Bracken House and the Millington Springs Nursing Home.
The camera above is an Axis M1011-W network camera. The camera is configured to create a Motion JPEG image which is uploaded to the server and is served to this web page from there. The camera is connected to the Bracken House network via an Airport Express device which is in turn connected to the network wirelessly. Although a wireless device in itself, the camera did not have a strong enough signal to pass through the internal walls of the property to the network router. The WeatherCat software that handles the weather station data also produces time-lapse movies, which can be found on the timelapses page.
The second camera is a HikVision 4MP bullet camera supplied and fitted by Smart and Secure Homes. The camera is configured to create a continuous stream which is uploaded to the servers of RailCam and is served to this web page from there. The camera is connected to a Hikvision® 4k Output 8 Channel 4TB NVR which is in turn connected to the Bracken House network.
This camera also takes a snapshot every minute during the day which is used to create time-lapse videos. The latest image is displayed below (refresh the page to update the image).
